Terms of Use

Last Updated: August 2026

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the website operated by AlongRoute Data PC, trading as AlongWave (“AlongWave”, “we”, “us” or “our”), including the website, webpages, materials, reports, demonstrations, forms, visualisations, links and other content made available through it (collectively, the “Website”).

By accessing or using the Website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the Website.

1. About AlongWave

AlongWave is the commercial brand of AlongRoute Data PC and provides marine-weather intelligence, including forecasts, archived forecasts, historical reconstructions, marine-weather visualisations, analytical products, reports and related specialist services for maritime and marine applications.

The Website is primarily intended to provide information about AlongWave, its technology, products, services, validation activities and commercial offerings.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, information made available through the Website does not constitute a binding commercial offer.

2. Website Use

You may use the Website for lawful business, informational and evaluation purposes.

You agree not to:

  • use the Website in violation of applicable law;
  • interfere with, damage or disrupt the Website or its infrastructure;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, account, data or restricted area;
  • introduce viruses, malicious code or other harmful technology;
  • scrape, systematically extract, reproduce or collect Website content or data through automated means without our prior written permission;
  • impersonate another person or entity;
  • use Website materials in a misleading manner or in a manner that falsely suggests endorsement by AlongWave.

We may suspend or restrict access to the Website where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance or protection of our rights.

3. Marine-Weather Information

Marine-weather, oceanographic and atmospheric conditions are inherently uncertain and may change rapidly.

Information presented on the Website, including forecasts, reconstructed historical conditions, visualisations, benchmark results, validation results, examples, illustrations and performance metrics, is provided to explain AlongWave’s technology, capabilities and methodologies.

Unless supplied under a separate written agreement, such information is not intended to constitute:

  • navigational instructions;
  • safety-of-life advice;
  • vessel-routing instructions;
  • operational clearance;
  • legal or regulatory advice;
  • insurance or claims advice;
  • a substitute for official notices, warnings, navigational information or onboard professional judgement.

Users remain responsible for their own operational, navigational, commercial and safety decisions and for considering all relevant information, including official sources and applicable regulatory requirements.

4. Forecasts, Reconstructions and Validation Results

Forecast performance varies depending on geography, variable, lead time, weather regime, observation availability, data quality and other factors.

Historical reconstructions represent observation-informed estimates of conditions likely encountered during a past period or event. They should not be interpreted as direct measurements unless specifically identified as such.

Validation and benchmarking results shown on the Website relate to the datasets, periods, variables, geographical coverage, observation sources, evaluation methods and configurations identified in the relevant material.

Past validation performance does not guarantee identical future performance.

Where comparisons with third-party models, datasets or services are presented, they are intended to describe the relevant validation exercise and do not imply affiliation with or endorsement by the third-party provider unless expressly stated.

5. Benchmark Requests

The Website may allow users to request benchmarking of AlongWave against an existing metocean feed, product or data layer.

Submitting a benchmark request:

  • does not create a contractual obligation on either party;
  • does not guarantee that AlongWave will perform the requested benchmark;
  • does not establish a final scope, methodology, timeline or commercial arrangement.

Any benchmark engagement will be subject to separate agreement regarding scope, datasets, confidentiality, methodology, responsibilities and, where applicable, commercial terms.

6. Validation Reports and Downloadable Materials

Certain reports, validation documents, technical materials or other resources may be made available through the Website or sent in response to a user request.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • such materials are provided for informational and evaluation purposes;
  • they remain subject to AlongWave’s intellectual-property rights;
  • they may not be altered, misrepresented, resold or redistributed commercially without our prior written permission;
  • excerpts may not be presented in a manner that removes relevant methodological context, qualifications or limitations.

If a document contains specific terms or restrictions, those terms will apply in addition to these Terms of Use.

7. Contact and Expert Requests

Users may submit their professional email address or other information through forms such as:

  • “Talk to an expert”;
  • benchmark requests;
  • validation-report requests;
  • other commercial or technical enquiries.

Submission of a form does not create a client, advisory, contractual or fiduciary relationship.

Any commercial engagement, pilot, licence, subscription, consultancy, integration or service will be governed by a separate written agreement.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise indicated, the Website and its original content are owned by or licensed to AlongRoute Data PC.

This includes, where applicable:

  • the AlongWave name and branding;
  • logos and visual identity;
  • text and written materials;
  • diagrams;
  • graphics;
  • illustrations;
  • interfaces;
  • data visualisations;
  • methodologies;
  • software-related materials;
  • reports;
  • technical documentation;
  • proprietary marine-weather outputs.

All applicable intellectual-property rights are reserved.

You may view and use Website content for legitimate internal evaluation and informational purposes.

You may not, without prior written permission:

  • reproduce substantial portions of the Website;
  • modify or create derivative works from proprietary Website content;
  • commercially distribute or resell Website materials;
  • remove proprietary notices;
  • use AlongWave trademarks in a way that suggests sponsorship, affiliation or endorsement;
  • reverse engineer any software, service or proprietary functionality made accessible through the Website except where such restriction is prohibited by law.

9. Third-Party Rights and References

The Website may refer to third-party organisations, technologies, models, datasets, services or trademarks, including organisations relevant to marine-weather forecasting, Earth observation, meteorology and maritime operations.

Third-party names, logos and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

Reference to a third party does not necessarily imply endorsement, sponsorship, partnership or affiliation.

10. Third-Party Links

The Website may contain links to third-party websites, platforms or resources.

We do not control those external services and are not responsible for their availability, content, accuracy, security, privacy practices or terms.

Accessing third-party websites is at your own discretion and subject to the terms applicable to those services.

11. Live Platform and Other Services

The Website may link to a live AlongWave platform, web application, demonstration environment or other digital service.

Access to such services may be governed by separate terms, licence conditions, user credentials, contractual arrangements or acceptable-use requirements.

Where separate terms apply, those terms will prevail in relation to that particular service.

12. Accuracy and Availability

We aim to keep the Website accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that:

  • all Website content is complete or error-free;
  • information will always reflect the latest product configuration;
  • the Website will be continuously available;
  • every feature, product or parameter shown will be available in every geography, configuration or commercial package.

We may update, remove, modify or discontinue Website content or functionality at any time.

13. No Warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Website and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We make no warranty, express or implied, regarding the Website’s uninterrupted availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or suitability for a specific operational decision.

Nothing in this section excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AlongRoute Data PC and its directors, officers, employees, contractors and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive loss arising from or relating to the use of, or inability to use, the Website.

This includes, without limitation, loss arising from reliance on informational Website content for operational, navigational, commercial or safety-critical decisions.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

15. Privacy and Personal Data

Personal data submitted or collected through the Website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains the categories of information we collect, how we use it, relevant legal bases, retention, recipients and user rights.

You can review our Privacy Policy at: https://alongwave.com/home/privacy-policy-2/

16. Cookies and Electronic Communications

The Website may use cookies and similar technologies for functionality, security, analytics and related purposes.

Where required, consent will be requested before non-essential cookies or similar technologies are activated.

17. Confidential Information

Unless we have entered into a confidentiality agreement with you, information submitted through general Website forms should not be treated as confidential.

Please do not submit trade secrets, confidential datasets, commercially sensitive technical information or personal information concerning third parties through general Website forms unless this has been agreed with AlongWave.

Where an NDA or other confidentiality agreement applies, that agreement will govern the relevant confidential information.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect changes in:

  • the Website;
  • our services;
  • legal or regulatory requirements;
  • security practices;
  • business operations.

The revised Terms will be published on this page together with an updated “Last Updated” date.

Continued use of the Website after the updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of Greece, without prejudice to any mandatory rights or rules that may apply under applicable law.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or use of the Website will be subject to the competent courts of Greece, unless applicable mandatory law provides otherwise.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

21. Entire Website Terms

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other policies expressly referenced on the Website, constitute the terms governing general use of the Website.

They do not replace any separate commercial agreement, licence, NDA, pilot agreement, subscription agreement, statement of work or other contract entered into between AlongWave and a customer or partner.

Where a separate written agreement conflicts with these Terms in relation to the contracted services, the separate written agreement will prevail.
