Dr. Georgia Kalantzi, Co-founder and CEO of AlongWave, will join a panel discussion at Startup OLÉ Salamanca 2026, exploring one of the key challenges facing women-led innovation in Europe: access to funding.
The session, “Closing the Funding Gap: EU Instruments Built for Women-Led Innovation,” will take place on 13 October 2026, from 16:30–17:00, at the Congress Palace Halls in Salamanca. It will explore European funding instruments and opportunities designed to support women investors and women-led businesses and discuss ways to help bridge the funding gap across Europe.
Georgia will contribute her perspective as an entrepreneur building a women-led deep-tech company and as an EmpoWomen Programme beneficiary, sharing insights from AlongWave’s journey in developing and commercialising AI-powered marine weather intelligence for the maritime sector.
The discussion will be moderated by Marta Fernández Bernabeu of Sploro and will also feature Virginia Gómez Oñate, Adriana Mata Fontcuberta, and Marta Santos, bringing together perspectives from EU innovation programmes and women-led technology companies.
For AlongWave, participation in the session is an opportunity to contribute to the broader conversation around creating stronger pathways for women-led innovation to access the resources needed to scale.
